After two months with the XF 23 f/2, December 2018 was a month with a considerably narrower field of view: That of the XF 56 f/1.2. Much larger in diameter and heavier than either the XF 35 or the XF 23 f/2, this lens is still fairly good to handle. Its optical characteristics are stunning. A maximum aperture of f/1.2 allows for a very narrow depth of field. Stepped down it handles direct sunlight well. I like that field of view and the slight compression effect of the 56 mm focal length.
